I am way too old school for these times.

I wish I was born in the 1800's. Why? Despite the fact that I hate computers and distrust technology, I imagine I would enjoy writing letters and having to wait for weeks until you get a reply. I am very patient. I actually enjoy having to wait for things. It makes them more enjoyable, and though I say that I am impatient, I am only impatient when something that should be working fast doesn't because of some technology problem. Thus someday you might see me throw a computer. Its 2011. Computers should not be freezing and acting slow. Come on computer nerds, you have had plenty of time to fix these simple problems.

Back to my original point. Along with letter writing and having far better handwriting in the 1800's, I would also like to live when dickens released his work one chapter at a time. It would be like the Lost of that time. You would have time to talk about and understand the story until the next chapter was released. I would absolutely love that. I love Charles Dickens and all that but his writing can be a bit too much to swallow in large portions. I could try to read a Dickens book one chapter at a time, but it would be hard to do when you have the whole book in your hands. And also, even if I don't get the whole gist of the story, I would still get the general parts and then I would want to continue reading even though I shouldn't. I just don't have that kind of self control when it comes to reading a good book.

I might not have mentioned this, but when I go back in time to the 1800's, I want to live in England. I don't really care where, just not London. It was too depressing back then, with the pollution and stuff. In fact, if anyone cares to know, I wouldn't mind living in England right now in the present. England is in fact in a tie with Japan and New Zealand for places I would live in if I had the chance. Japan is there because I like how their customs are and their food sounds delicious. Especially Colbie beef. Mmmmmmhhhmmmm. And New Zealand is there because I saw a program on PBS about all the birds that live there. The best and cutest(I know I'm usually not one to say this about animals, but this bird is adorable.) is the Kea. He makes a noise that sounds like a cute giggle. And also the kiwi won my heart over. I just want to go there to help those little guys surivive. (they aren't endangered but they are still in trouble.)

That concludes my rant about things. I can't think of anything else, except I have know exceeded my yearly limit for say or typing the word cute. I am now going to type a list of manly words to make up for this.

I'm totally with you on Charles Dickens. Biweekly installments would be soooo much easier to digest than a half-ton deforestation project. And it would up the suspense as well! Letter writing is a total dying art, if it isn't already dead. I bet if people started writing letters again things would actually happen much faster because people would say exactly what they goddamn meant instead of wasting breath on pointless un-conversation :(! But, hey, we're all guilty of it!
