some-things

heres are some-things to look forward to:  (A.K.A. reasons to get up in the morning and not just stay in bed and make a blanket fort and spend the rest of the week defending said fort like it was Helms Deep and everyone else is Orcs)

  • Norah Jones on Austin City Limits on PBS at 11 PM on saturday nights
    • no specific date yet, but I read that she sang some of her old standards in her new style.  I love this version of Norah Jones.  The older but more famous version sang songs that were great and all, but they were all songs that you could fall asleep to easily.
  • Wreck-it Ralph
    • not excited for the disney mush mush plot line, but I do love the part that combines two of my favorite things: classic arcade games and animation.
  • Community on NBC
    • "October 19th isn't just a date, it's a state of mind..."
  • having the occasional slow week at work!!  Where I don't put in 40 hours in the period of 4 or less days!!!!
  • making a new title thingie for this blog!!!
    • its gonna be mega-uber-fantastic.  if I get it done, that is. I only have rough sketches and a dream for now....
  • someday building an arcade called "The Basement of Flynn's Arcade"
    • Flynn's Arcade is the arcade in the Tron movies
    • but this one is fill with what would be in the basement of Flynn's Arcade, namely cheap knockoffs, poorly made games, and unpopular games, such as:
      • Food Court Cop:  shoot punk teenagers that are trying to steal orange juliouses with your taser
      • Fish 'N Shoot:  extra points if you shoot the fish right after you catch it, and watch out for FLYING ZOMBIE BARRACUDAS.
      • Grand Theft Walrus: saw this one in the background of a Simpsons episode and have wanted someone to make this game ever since.
      • Tom Selleck: Vampire Hunter-  Tom Selleck fights vampire.  WATCH OUT TOM THAT ONE HAS A MUSTACHE TRIMMER!! IF HE SHAVES YOUR MUSTACHE YOU LOSE YOUR VAMPIRE HUNTING SKILLS.
      • Jim Lehr Smash-o-thon: see who can interrupt and talk over debate moderator Jim Lehr the most.
      • Slak Man: sorta like Pac Man, but he is more of a slacker and doesn't always go at full speed.  and he takes breaks to catch his breath sometimes.
      • Space Intruders:  pretty much like Space Invaders, 'cept everything is poorly designed.  this game belongs in this basement arcade.
      • Sunset Enjoyment:  whoever can enjoy an 8-bit sunset the most WINS!!!
  • the weather getting better and making sure everyone who lives in a cold climate know that I can wear t-shirts in December.  Outside.
  • taking naps on a Sunday afternoon into the Sunday Evening. that was actually today.  now I have to live with the consequences of this nap.
  • Japandroids on Nov. 7th.  somebody else is doing the dishes that night, cuz I am not missing this concert.
  • maybe someday maybe getting a new stereo system for my car, Lenore (named not after the Edgar Allen poem, but after a briefly mention person in a book I read)(not telling you what book), and enjoying that stereo system by turning up music loudly, very loudly indeed.
  • WRITING MORE BULLETED LISTS IN THE FUTURE!!!!!!
    • and maybe I'll learn how to change the bullets and make them rocketships and rayguns.  Froooooooooshh!  Ka-Pew!
